After fifteen years of what I thought was a loving marriage, it all went down the proverbial tubes. I was now part of the marriage statistic, a divorcee. As if going through a divorce wasn't bad enough, the marriage ended horribly. I never thought my life would be like a bad romantic comedy where the husband leaves his wife for the young, beautiful blonde. How extremely predictable, and painful!

But even after the possessions were divided and the papers signed, the healing was a slow process. I was also left with a diamond ring as a reminder of the marriage that didn't work. In order to aide the healing, I thought it would be best to sell the ring. Selling diamond jewelry was the best decision I ever made. It was a symbol of my first step forward, to leave my old life behind and start again. I felt empowered! I did keep some of the jewelry he gave me, because diamonds are a girl's best friend after all.

Some friends worried I would regret the decision, but I needed to move on. I was never ever going to wear that ring again, so why not make some cash for it? Selling diamonds for cash paid for my cruise and maybe I'll meet Mr. Right on board!

Last week I talked about the movie Titanic and how the old Rose must have been senile when she dropped that huge diamond necklace into the ocean. It was quite possibly the worst decision ever made.  But in the land of fantasy and make believe, the Heart of the Ocean wasn't lost forever. A few years later, the diamond necklace made it's way into the hands of a Martian, Ms. Britney Spears to be precise.

In 2000, her video for "Oops!...I Did It Again" made reference to this famous diamond necklace. Spears plays a Martian, well I'm assuming because she's on the red planet, and an astronaut visits the planet and falls smitten for Spears. He offers her a token of his love, the diamond necklace from the movie. He claims he saved it from the depths of the ocean.

Well instead of the diamond being lost at sea, it's lost on a planet that probably doesn't place any value on diamond jewelry. I don't quite understand the logic behind these crazy characters! They need to start selling diamond jewelry instead of tossing it away all the time. Don't give diamonds to a girl you just met. Sell diamonds for cash and then use the money to buy your own private island. It's a much better decision then giving something valuable to Britney Spears.

Out of all the scenes from the hit movie Titanic, I think the one that sticks out in people's minds the most is when old Rose Dawson "accidentally" drops a gorgeous diamond necklace into the ocean. Everyone in that movie theater went a little crazy after that scene. Rose had a stunning, and gigantic, blue diamond necklace (which was supposed to resemble the Hope Diamond) given to her on that fatal night by her fiancee.

Everyone assumed the diamond was lost at sea, buried with the ship. However, we realize the necklace was safely tucked into her coat pocket and someone stayed in there despite running through a collapsing ship and nearly drowning. I can't even begin to fathom on how that diamond would have been worth. Even if Rose didn't care about the money, she could have given it to her children and grandchildren! I'm sure they wouldn't have minded a few million dollars in their bank accounts.

Rose, I don't understand your mentality. Maybe you were traumatized by the whole ordeal but you don't throw away perfectly good diamonds. If you don't keep them, sell them. You can sell diamonds for cash and make a fortune. Don't do as Rose does! Sell diamonds instead.

selling diamonds for cashSummer is in full swing and that means you should have plenty of fun outdoor activities planned and hopefully a vacation to somewhere beautiful. Money might be tight for a lot of people and it's a shame because summer is the perfect time to plan a getaway. You've been cooped up at work or school all year and you need to have some fun, away from your current residence.

You can easily make some extra cash when you sell diamond jewelry. I'm sure if you rummage through your jewelry box you can easily find plenty of jewelry that you no longer wear anymore. Don't bother keeping around what you don't even use. Call for a price quote from DiamondBuyersofAmerica.com to see just how much your diamond jewelry could be worth.

Then take that cash and put it towards a wonderful week down in the Bahamas, lying on a beach. Or if you prefer a little adventure, climb the Alps. I know I'm going to use my money for a mini Euro-trip to Spain, France, and Italy. A few days in each country shall suffice. Who would have thought you could go on the vacation of your dreams after selling diamonds?
